Does this work on the basic Shopify plan?

Yes. Custom apps and the Admin API work on all Shopify plans. Higher plans get higher API rate limits, but basic is fine for most automation use cases.

What about high order volumes?

Shopify webhooks can fire in bursts during flash sales. OpenClaw queues events to process in order without losing any. For very high volumes, we recommend queue-based processing in the workflow settings.

Can I test without a live store?

Yes. Use the Shopify development store (free from Shopify Partners) to test workflows before going live. You can create test orders without real charges.

I don't know how to create an app — is this complicated?

It sounds more technical than it is. You're just clicking through a settings menu in Shopify to generate an API key. Takes about 10 minutes. The Workshop guide shows exactly which buttons to click.
